None of them indicate word limits. The first, and only the first, reads, "Choose one of the six extended essay options and upload a one- or two- page response."

The other two supplemental essays offer no limit, and the first is vague. Are the two pages double spaced, or size 4 font or 30? Or does it it really not matter, and should we should just provide the amount of information we feel is adequate?

In the .admissions counselor thread post #2109, Grace states " We suggest, however, keeping your “why Chicago” and “favorite things” essays to around 300 words, and the longer extended essay question to about 500-1,000 words. These are not strict requirements, but just gentle guidelines such that your essays do not extend in to a way-too-long territory"

@Marylandfour Thank you very much. I assumed there were no exact boundaries but I just wanted a general guideline.

@Marylandfour was correct. I must warn you, though, that Common App did have a word limit for these essays when I applied, although some admission officers from UChi didn’t know about it.
I asked everyone and they all said there was no technical limit. But in fact I couldn’t submit two of my essays - the two with fill-in blanks, not the pdf one. Common App told me to reduce them to 500 words each, which only appeared on the webpage the third time I tried to load them. (Can you imagine that was less than 24 hours before the deadline…)
I don’t know about this year’s setting, but maybe just note that Common App and UChi admission people may assume differently on this kind of stuff.
Also, when you finish you application, you will receive a UChi account where you can still upload your materials, which has no limit whatsoever, instead of using Common App.
