U Chicago Yield 2010

Facebook group is currently 1,125 students..class is 1300ish?
Does anyone know how yield turned out? It could help (give hope) to some of those on the waitlist.

I’d say that a large percentage, maybe even half, of the students in the Facebook group are current students.

^ Is that good or bad?

We never know what the yield of Chicago is right now. Don’t estimate this with facebook people, for heaven’s sake…

Chicago yield is unpredictable because of many reasons, few of which are:

42% increase in applicants (Chicago’s yield calculation formula doesn’t work)

Tons of cross-applicants (Makes chicago yield lower)

Tons of rejected applicants from Ivies (Makes chicago yield higher)

So nobody knows.

When should we expect to know?

@OP: I’m not on FB, but I’m going to Chicago; I’d imagine that I’m not the only one.

^ Yup; also note that a bunch of people (even one of the admins) who are admits to the class of 2014 are not necessarily attending UChicago (even though they’re in the group). A not-insignificant number of people also seem to be current freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors.

All this means that we have absolutely no frikkin idea as to what the actual numbers are until Chicago tells us what the numbers are.

Oh crap this makes me all the more nervous

D= SPECULATION MAKES ME SAD.
Does anyone have any concrete info?

^ How many times do I have to repeat… THERE IS NOT CONCRETE INFO.

Just wait for a week or two.

College yields should be released shortly. Many were publicly reported on May 8th of last year.

please post here wen it comes out
