Hey! I’m soooooo unbelievably grateful and excited to have been accepted into class of 2024. I’m trying to chose which residence hall I want to live in!
I know I want apartment style (as I want to be able to cook) so it’s between U-Hall and 3rd North.
I was wondering what experiences people had in both?
Which one has bigger rooms or bigger suites/kitchens/bathrooms?
Is one of the halls nicer/cleaner?
Does one hall have better suites/kitchens than the other (in terms of space and facilities)?
How do the other facilities compare (such as laundry rooms, common areas, study spaces)?
Is the community better in one hall or another? Or simply different, if so how?
Thank you so much for the help! I think both would make wonderful homes, but I’m just trying to pick the perfect one!
I know you want an apartment style, but Brittany Hall is the best if your a freshmen.
@jazziscool
Would you please elaborate why Brittany Hall is the best for Freshmen? My niece would like to be on campus (also Class of 2024), and looking for tips about dorms. Thanks.
@CollegeMom202x Brittany is known to have the best and most fun communal atmosphere. It is newly renovated with air conditioning, and is overall a beautiful building. It has perfect location on Broadway and 10th Street. It has a penthouse lounge that has amazing views of the city. It also has “Exploration” floors where students can apply for themed-based living. Overall it is just perfect place to be for freshmen new to nyu. I would say Lipton Hall is the second best option for freshmen.
@jessmhayes Congrats! My D lives in 3N this year and loves it. There is a market and cafe in the building and the rooms/common area are spacious enough. Also, NYU says they try to assign you to one of your top 3 dorm choices. 3N was fifth on her list, but a great placement.
