U.London(Medicine) vs. Staying in the U.S.

Hi fellows
I’m an international student from South Korea…
I will be graduating from my high school in Boston this May.
I’m a South Korean citizen without a green card.
I recently got acceptance letters from the University of London (King’s college)-Medical school, and
University of Manchester-Medical school.
Both are 6-years programmes.
After I graduate from medical school, I want to live in South Korea, and would also like to
maintain a strong relationship with the hospitals in African nations such as Malawi and Swaziland.
I also would like to participate in the doctors without borders.
And for these reasons, I need to decide whether should I stay in the States or not.
I got accepted to some American colleges(high caliber)…
and I was wondering would it be better for me to continue my education through
American colleges and go to American medical school, or just go to London medical school this fall.
Since I’m an international student, it might be hard for me to get into American medical schools in the future.
And I’m not sure what American medical schools are comparable to University of London medical school…

I mean, if I can’t get into some of top medical schools in America, it would be better to stay with London.

So my questions are…

  1. Would it be better for me to stay in the United States and try to get into American med school? or just go to
    London medical this fall.

Which Ameircan medical schools will be comparable to King’s college, University of London.

Thank you

Not sure which one I would compare but KCL's medical school is really good.

I guess it depends on how sure you are that you wana be a doctor? I you are sure I would go to KCL.

I'd go to England. Here's why:

There is no assurance you would get into a medical school in America. You have only been accepted as an undergraduate. You could only major in pre-med

Medical school in America is longer and requires more residency. You will accumulate more bills than you will be able to pay off in Doctors without Borders.

Is Uni of London hard to get into?

Uni of London is a federal body. It acts like the University of California or SUNY. You do not apply to the University of London (except for a few PhD programs). You instead apply to the colleges which comprise the university such as the LSE, King's College London, UCL, SOAS, Queen Mary, Royal Veterinary College, Birbeck and etc... So it depends on each course and college.

psymth - Imperial? Or has it already removed itself?

Imperial will leave the university by the end of this academic year. The LSE, KCL and UCL all have powers to award their own degrees if they so wish to do so.
