Hi, I’m a little bit confused about what the difference between all these is. I did the research but it’s still confusing to me. I would like to apply to the Ross School of Business for undergraduate college, and I searched up the other schools that it listed (LSA, etc) and no matter which one you pick you can still apply to Ross. Could someone clear up this for me? Thank you.
if you’re a high school applicant, you can apply to Ross as a pre-admit but it also requires you to select another school such as LSA, COE, Kinesiology, Nursing, School of Music, Art School, etc… The most common one is LSA since it is the most known and is usually the catch-all undecided major for most freshmen.
You have to first be accepted into one of those other undergrad non-Ross schools first before getting in as a Pre-admit. You can’t apply to only Ross. But if you don’t get into Ross pre-admit, that other school such as LSA can still accept you. During freshmen year as a LSA/COE/Kinesiology/etc… student you can still apply to Ross during Regular admission where you will be evaluated based on your performance, activities, and essays of your freshmen year. If you don’t get in during Regular admission, then you just stay in whatever school you were already in.
So you essentially have 2 chances to get into Ross. But even if you did get into Ross pre-admit, freshmen year you’ll still be taking classes from that non-Ross school you selected. Ross classes start sophomore year.
You should be able to apply directly to Ross starting this year. You can also transfer but you need to take the prerequisites (Calc, Econ 101, etc.)
