<p>It matters to apply for sophomore standing because the point is to get out of my current college ASAP and not waste time taking courses that won't transfer well under a Quarter system. I had already gotten in to Michigan out of HS.</p>
<p>I am a freshmen at Oaklnad University here in Michigan. Just got accepted to transfter to umich this fall for mechanical engineering. As long as you manage the math classes it's very possible to transfer in as an engineering sophmore. If I pulled it off I'm sure others could too, it's not impossible by any means.</p>

<p>I applied for sophomore standing at UMich Engineering with a 3.75 at BC. When I applied back in March, they told me that they would have to look at my final grades, but once they got them I was accepted. If I had ended up choosing UMich, though, I would've had to take DifEq over this summer.</p>
