I am going for biomedical engineering, and I am now btween Wash U and Univ Michigan ann arbor for my final choice!

I was wondering if I could get some more information and opinions...

I know that biomedical engineering is ranked 8 for U Mich and 16 for Wash U.
I was wondering is it easy to switch to the Art/Sci in Wash U, and that will the financial/merit aide for Wash U, which is named after the school (Engineering), can be transferred?

Thankies! :)

well i can't help you on the financial aid part but i'll try to help you with everything else

at wash u, it's very easy to transfer to different schools. but honestly, if you want to go BME, you have to go with michigan. it's cheaper, better, and i think a better college experience. sure, it may not feel like a small ivy league school with cr@ppy sports haha but michigan has more opportunities and overall a better program. i'd say michigan for sure unless you get insane aid from wash u to bring down that private school price.

I only received approxiamately 19,000/year from Wash U, and for Michigan, I received 20,000/year.
I am out-of-state for Michigan, but the scholarship does dramatically reduce the price.

Mich: 39,936 minus the 20,000
Wash U: a couple thousand higher

HOT D@MN i only got 5k a year from michigan

i'd say pick michigan then. it's still a little cheaper, you'll get a better education, but i think the big thing here is you'll have a whole lot more fun at michigan. sure, you'll get a great education both places but i think michigan would be a better college experience.

see both for yourself.

i saw michigan. very very cold (im from Florida, where it is always sunny)

I am going to visit Wash u this weekend.

haha well i'm from florida too and it wasn't THAT bad

Michigan will cost $6,000/year less than Washington University. Ann Arbor is more pleasant than St Louis, Michigan's campus is more lively and fun than Washington University's, Michigan Engineering is better than Washington University's and overall, Michigan is a better university than Washington University. Unless you feel more at home at Wash U., go for Michigan.

hahahahahaha! "unless u feel at home for Wash U., go for michigan."

Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense. IF you really love the feel of Washington University, go there because you will be happier. But if you are equally comfortable with the feel of both universities, go for Michigan.
