^^^Really? One of my husband’s former students is a graduate student at Vanderbilt. He is from Beijing. His father is very well known in Beijing, so I’m guessing that a couple of people in China do indeed know about Vanderbilt.

<p>Let me qualify my statement that “the Chinese do not know about Vanderbilt” to say: the Chinese know enough about Vanderbilt to give its rightful ranking.</p>
