U of C STUDENTS ONLY!!!!

U of C STUDENTS ONLY!!!!

What did you choose U of C over and why?

...how would non-U of C students be able to respond to your question anyway?

Actually, for other U of Cs.

Berlekey, LA, Santa Cruz and Davis.

Had I not gotten in EA I would have also applied to Reed College and Brown.

Only applied to three schools, and got into two of em, oone being U. chicago. SO i chose it basically over Vassar.

Had I gotten into Yale, I think I would be in quite a complicate dilemma, although I might have chose Uchi still, due to its impressive econ curriculum.

Over Berkeley and UCLA, because I can always come back to CA for grad school and the rest of my life. Over Harvey Mudd, because if my interest in chemistry should falter, Chicago has a much wider range of options for majors, in addition to a better-rounded education. And if my folks are going to shell out the money for a private college, I damn well better come out compleatly educated fellow.

i had UT , Carnegie Mellon, and waitilst for Rice.
i did not want to stay in texas and ut didnt really appeal to me.
rice - had i been admitted, i'd have had a hard decision (but i would have eventually chosen uchic in the end)
but for me , i just ended up realllly liking uchic over the others. mostly bc of their rigorous academics and hardworking reputation - that's what probably appealed to me most. also just looking at their uncomm app - those prompts! i love their originality/creativity that they foster. and basically EVERY program is good at uchic. and also all the ppl i met thru cc and the blog. and quirks i love quirks. this is my dream come true literally. ahh i cant waitttt

I chose U of C over northwestern and rice. northwestern was too preprofessional for my tastes, and some programs are definitely weaker than others, which is bad if, like me, you have no idea what you want to major in. like cookiemonkey said, just about all of uchi's programs are good. as for rice, i didn't want to be around all those texas conservatives, and i have no interest working in houston (no offense cookiemonkey). I've lived in Chicago all my life and I love it here, and there's really no better school around than the U of C.

ahha no offense taken odyssy. i dont want to stay in houston the rest of my life either!! :P

For me, it was the U. of C. or nothing.

My parents made me apply to two other schools, both not great schools with big names. But I know that, if I had not been accepted to the U. of C., I would simply have waited a year and then applied again.

which schools

me? Lawrence University and St. Olaf College

nothing great, but something one must do to please one's parents. . .
