I haven't taken the ACT or the SAT yet, but I'm scheduled to take the ACT later this month and the SAT on June 2.

So what do you guys think?

Note: Sorry, this is a repost. I accidentally posted it in the wrong forum previously.

If your SAT/ACT scores are just as impressive as your ECs in grades, then I’m sure you will be an excellent canidate for UChicago

You will have a solid chance of getting in but it can go either way. Good luck!

Do good on your SAT and ACT and I’m pretty sure you’d be able to get in.

Since you’re an international student, do you need financial aid?

International meaning no US citizen or resident status.

Thanks @SeattleBulldog, Cortana431, Soldiers for the vote of confidence.

@082349 Yes. I’ve looked at their website and they state that they do offer meet 100% of the need for international students, however their budget to do so is limited, so they focus more on who they’re admitting. So, I think getting accepted is going to be the biggest issue. :(

Since you’re an international who needs financial aid, I would say it’s rather unlikely. Chicago doesn’t really give aid to international students.

@082349 I don’t mean to sound rude when I say this, but how do you know?
I guess I’ve been misled into thinking that they do (they themselves claim to) so I don’t want to keep my hopes up for a college I have no chance of attending.

It’s fine that you ask.

There’s a PDF document on the internet compiled by IIE, I think, which shows the number of aided international students. The number is very low.

Plus, that was what my counselor said. FWIW, we get around 20 students into Chicago each year. I go to a school not in the US.

I wouldn’t say you have no chance of attending but you need to have other schools in mind too.

Bump. I got my ACT score today and got a 30. I’ll probably end up retaking it in Sept though. Chance?
