Recently, I was accepted both at the U of Edinburgh and U of St Andrews. Both are in Scotland, both do have pretty strong reputation, curriculum and are prestigious insitutions. The thing is that I cannot decide where to go. Could anyone help me with the decicion?

My S and I visited both last year. He ended up not applying, but liked both. I think he would have preferred Edinburgh, which is a really fun city. St. Andrews seemed a little boring to him (socially), although the town is nice. He also had a much better interview experience with a professor at Edinburgh.

I also vote for Edinburgh. It’s easily my favorite city in the UK after London. Although St Andrews has a surprising amount of pubs for its size, it’s extremely small and very expensive.

I understand that U of Edinburgh is better in terms of surroundings and social side, but academics is an important factor for me. Times ranked St. Andrews as the top university of Scotland and 5th in UK and both positions are higher than that of U of Edinburgh. However, in different rankings, Edinburgh appears on higher places.
I would probably like to transfer to other institution in London… Honestly, I am a bit confused and don’t really know what to do…
