U of Florida (out of state)

hey im a junior living in south carolina, and even though my state is not known for academics, i go to a well accredited high school (we have continually won the SAT state champs title) and many of the students are national merit scholars. anyways, i was wondering if i have any chance at all in getting into UF. I've wanted to go there for several years now. Here are my stats:

Course load: sophomore year- advanced english and history, honors precal, honors biology, WWII history and film, spanish 1
junior year- ap biology, ap us history, ap stat, honors chemistry, spanish 2, and advanced english III (next year i plan on taking ap chemistry, ap government, honors econ, college algebra, and ap english IV)
GPA: 4.6 (weighted like florida without non academic classes)
class rank: 26 (as of sophomore year, and this year should move me two spots higher to be in the top 10 percent)
clubs/extracurriculars: Beta Club, National Honor Society, Who's Who Among High School Students 2004-2005, SAT Team, Interact Club, 2 years JV cheerleading, Varsity cheerleading, Cheerleading AAA State Champions, Academic letter, Student Council, class board, Science Olympiad team member, Girl Scout for 10 years, Girl Scout Silver Award, active church and youth member, and holding down 2 jobs at once (skating rink and pizza place)

Also, I plan on applying for early decision, my dad attended UF, and my major is not popular whatsoever (zoology). Could anyone tell me if I have a chance or have any advice on how to get in or impress them? Thanks!!!!

youre chances are good...good luck!

Hey, I'm a Florida resident for 18+ years now. My sister is a senior at UF and I recently got accepted regular decision I. What were your individual scores for the 3 sections? I have to say, getting in out of state is tricky, that's why 96% come from in-state, that and the fact that tuition is only $3,000ish a year. But look, everyone at my high school applies there. It's the Harvard of the Florida state schools (which is not saying a ton, but still.) This was the most competition to get into that school in years, and they look A LOT, almost entirlely at SAT scores and rank/GPA. I had friends with 1390s not get in because they weren't in the top 5% of their classes, and a lot of friends with 1200-1300s who were deferred or rejected. They couldn't care less what EC's you have or what your essays say, so long as you completed them (unless you're a valuable football player, which I don't think you are). Raise your SAT scores.
