U of I accounting

What should be my scores to get into U of I's accounting school? I'd also like to know the differences of Urbana and springfield. Any advice for me? thank you :)

Well, you apply to the business school, then you can transfer once you get there (not sure after how long). Your ACT should be at least 27 if you want a decent chance, in my opinion. What are your scores?

And Urbana is obviously better if you have the choice. Especially if you want to do accounting. UIUC is usually ranked first or second in the country for accounting.

If you apply to the business college for entry freshman year, you apply as business unspecified, meaning you do not choose any major, and you don’t have to do that until third year and it can be accounting or any other business major. Thus, getting into accounting simply requires getting into and staying in the business college. Last year’s middle 50% range for that college was ACT 28 - 32, SAT 1900 - 2100, Class rank top 2%-11%. With businees college, stats are not determinative and you should consider essays and ECs very important.

i just took my first SATs yesterday. LOL we don’t have ACT in our country.I live in Myanmar or Burma  thanks.

Drusba,i am lost. U mean accounting and unspecified business will be the same for first 2 years? Any advice for me? What are other options for business college with good accounting programme?

Every high school senior that applies for freshman entry in the UIUC business college has only one choice of “major” on the application for admission – “Business Unassigned.” Unlike the other colleges, the business college does not have applicants choose a major when they apply. They choose a major after they are in the business college. To choose accounting, you just start taking the courses needed for an accounting major and eventually just tell the college you have chosen that as a major.

thank you =]
