<p>So iv finally decided my heart is set on a degree in Chemical engineering, but my dilemma lies in which school to attend. Its got to be an Iowa school, that's for certain. So iv narrowed my choices down to U of I or IA state. IA state is ranked better than U of I in Engineering, but I really like the U of I campus. And its closer to my current residence, which would save me a ton of money because I simply must commute. Ia state is ranked 40 in engineering, which I believe U of IA is ranked 56. Would choosing one over the other make a big difference in my employability or in this case would their rankings not make much difference?</p>
<p>The rankings aren’t significantly different but take a look at the post graduate career surveys from each school to see if graduates are hired by the same companies.</p>
<p>If you must commute - decision made. You go to the closest one.</p>
