I'm going into some area of business and I have been accepted to U of I's College of Business and Indiana's Kelley School of Business. Both would cost about the same with my scholarships from Indiana. I'm leaning towards U of I because I've been the most exposed to it but I'm looking for a good combination for social and academic life. Also, which school would give me a better chance in finding a job in four years, specifcally in the business field? Thanks! I'm having such a tough time because both schools have great business programs. U of I has Chicago connections, but Indiana has the overall better business school.

Indiana is much better for business overall, while Illinois’ reputation is almost completely based on their accounting program.

I’m fairly certain Indiana would give you more job opportunities in anything but perhaps the big 4 accounting firms. I hope you realize that saying “specifically in the business field” does not narrow it down at all, but if you meant exclusive finance and consulting jobs that only top students have a shot at, then Indiana is a much better school to go to.

If I were in your shoes and could go to Illinois and Indiana for the same price, I would have already eliminated Illinois because Indiana is better and it’s really not as close as you seem to think. Illinois is a very regional school, but on a national level, Indiana will take you much farther.
