U of M Ann Arbor chances (will chance back)

I posted previously about getting into the Ross BS at U of M and I realize from some helpful posters that I am just not good enough to get in there and I stand a very small chance of getting in. I'm not mad, perhaps a bit discouraged, but hey, MJ was cut from his bball team in high school.

Anyway, I live close to u of m and it is a great school. Even if I don't get into the BS, I can still have a major in economics which is good for the career I want to go into (trading).

Anyway, here are my stats.

Academics
ACT- 29, 30 superscored
GPA- 3.85w/3.44uw (5 point scale)
Rank- Not reported, but my GC said I was in the top 25%
High School rigor- One of the hardest, if not, the hardest in the state.
Courseload- 6 honors, 4 aps (AP scholar)
Good senior courseload
National Honor Society

EC's
60 service hours
Varsity wrestling (nationally ranked team)
School spirit club
Spanish club
Academic team for two years
financial planning firm internship (return offer for this summer)

Other
White, Catholic, Guy, wealthy and married parents (not billionaires, but im eligible for 0 financial aid)
First generation college student
Great letters of rec from teacher/counselor

Any other ideas of good economics/business (finance) colleges for me to look into? I wouldn't mind living in Chicago or New York considering that financial institutions are abundant there.

I will chance back

I’d say U of Mich is a high match/low reach for you. Your ACT score is good, but your GPA might be a little low and none of your ECs are incredible. Definetly can’t hurt to apply though. Nail the essay and you have shot.

Chance me back!

link please

bumpity bump bump bump.

Hey boomboomboom, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad so keep your head up. I feel obligated to tell you this because of my previous comments. You should work as hard as you can to get a 4.0 this semester because as an IS student, you still have a chance at LSA. You’re not a bad student and if you get your recs and essays to be really good, you still have a chance. I do know a few people with relatively weak GPAs that got in from my high school. Best of luck to you.

High match/low reach, as someone already said.
Try to keep your grades up, and for your ECs you should definitely emphasize your leadership roles. Really focus on the ones that matter most to you. best of luck :)
