Confused about the app in general. Do you think I should include a separate resume, listing all my ec's? Do I have to provide verification for the community service hours I have performed? Is there anything I can do that will make the app stand out?

It’s best if you attach a separate resume listing your EC’s. What i did last year was after filling out the generics on the online app and checking the boxes of some of types of clubs i was in, i chose to attach an additional, more specific, resume with my EC’s. It’s much better this way since it lets UofM know specifically which types of clubs or activities you were in and allows them to have a better understanding of you.

Generally you do not need to provide verfication for community service hours (unless it is for somewhere that may seem like a stretch), i volunteered at a hospital last year and an international company, if you by chance have any recommendation letters from your volunteered places you should send some of the best ones instead. UofM usually doesnt bother to investigate your volunteer hours unless it seems too outlandish.

To make your app stand out, try not attach way too many generic certificates and recommendations. Only attach the top ones that you believe will really make you stand out like national competition awards, strong and more personal rec letters, etc. (make your extra ec resume NEAT! and make sure to have everything filled out nicely and respond promptly to emails from UofM if there are needs for clarification on your app!)
