I'm a prospective student for Fall 2011. I was born in Michigan and have lived here my entire life; no one in my immediate family has lived outside of the state or attended school anywhere else. But U of M has my residency on Wolverine Access listed as OOS. I've looked at the guidelines and the only reason I can think of for this is that I've taken a few online classes through Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development in Illinois. What can I do to fix this situation? Will I have to file a Residency Application?

I know other people who have had this issue. Call them or look online. There’s a form you have to fill out.

Yes, if you have taken courses from universities outside the state, for some reason UMIch flags you as out of state for residency. Sometimes calling will fix this. To be safe, fill the form and send it too.
It happend to my son this year and it was fixed later

I think you have to fill out this form…
