Spartans wish we could ship coach John L. Smith to Ann Arbor.

Would you want Coach Lloyd Carr in return? 8^)

Go to MSU over Eastern. It's much better than the so-called "directional schools." From what I see at my school, the kids heading to State can't compete with those headed to Michigan. But if you are driven, you can get a great education. MSU definitely has the resources.

Pick MSU over Eastern, not only becuase of the resources but....Ypsi...blech. MSU is wierd becuase I know people who had 3.3s and 25s who go there and my class Valedictorian and the only National Merit Scholar from my class chose MSU over UM as well. After talking to faculty at both schools I'm almost entirely certain that for me, the tuition break, research opportunities and the proximity to Lansing (which yes, sucks, but I have a really good job at the Capitol that I'm having an impossible time justifying leaving) make MSU the smarter choice.

Are you guys telling me to go to EMU? I'm not sure if you guys are directing this towards me because I have no plans on attending EMU.

The one thing I don't understand is why Michigan State gets such a bad rap.

smurfette, who's telling you to pick EMU over MSU? I'm not getting that, at all. I hear people saying just the opposite.

dsmo and wandergirl put that in their posts. I'm not sure if their telling me this because I never mentioned anything about going to EMU. I'm really confused.

I think you misunderstood them, smurfette. I think they just used EMU as a comparison. I don't think they were suggesting you go there over MSU. In fact, elsewhere, wandergirl has said she's picking MSU over UM, so I don't think she'd suggest in any way you picking EMU over MSU (pardon my being so gauche as to speak for wandergirl; I'm sure she'll clarify for herself).

gotcha ;) (aw...this message is too short)

haha sorry.. i actually brought up Eastern Michigan b/c i wanted to know how it was in comparison to MSU. (i got waitlisted at U of M). Isn't Michigan State pretty far from U of M though?
