U of Minnesota vs. U of I

So I'm waitlisted at a nice LAC but, realistically, my chances there are slim. Thus, I've more or less decided on U of Minn because of its awesome aid and the opportunity it offers me to meet different kinds of people. I do want a few second opinions though since this is a pretty big decision. So ya, please speak if you know about either school! Here my financial aid offers for each:

U of Minnesota, CLA:
16,144 per year, my guess is 4.5% tuition increase each year

U of I, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences:
24,714 per year, no increase (new act passed few years ago)

Right now I'm gonna major in math because I plan to teach, but that might change. I've been seriously considering political science, and even med school (although I kind of doubt I'll go through with that). Would you guys say that Minn sounds like the best option here?

U of I? Indiana or Iowa or ?

Illinois, sorry.

Sure, I'd choose U Minnesota...even with the assumed tuition increases it will be substantially cheaper than University of Illinois.

With your ambitions of being a math teacher or med school, I'd save the money.

Any financial aid to lower the cost for you?

what I just mentioned included aid. Thanks for the advice, anyone else? Even if its just to back up my U of Minn decision. I'd appreciate some comments on the academic strengths and weakness of each, if possible.
