U of R Class of 2023 Applicants Discussion

I didn’t see one up so I decided to make one! Just submitted my UR RD application.

Good luck! I’m anxiously awaiting my D’s UR ED result which I guess will be sent 12/14 (since 12/15 is a Saturday).

Waiting for my ED result!

Not much activity for ED applicants on this board. DD applied ED GEAR.

Good luck to all !!!

I got in! My acceptance was through a scholarship program that gave me a full ride! UofR 2023

Congratulations !!!

Applied priority on Dec 1st, however, my portal says it is awaiting Official Test Scores. Is it ok if I self-reported them?

You have to have test scores sent directly from the testing agency.

According to their website (below) scores can be self reported if you report them on your application - assuming we’re talking about the same question.

Submitting Standardized Tests
Student Self-Reported – For admission review, the University of Rochester will accept scores from the SAT Reasoning, SAT Subject Test, ACT or completed AP examinations that you report on your application. We are not able to accept student self-reported test scores via email, phone or postal mail. If you earn admission based on records including self-reported scores, our office will require you to submit the official test scores shortly after submitting your enrollment deposit and prior to your arrival on campus. Any significant discrepancies between the actual scores and the self-reported values may jeopardize a student’s place in the incoming class.

Self reported scores are fine. There is a check down the list stating self reported scores. RA confirmed receipt, but it still shows as a red check for us. I would just confirm with RA.

@Andretulloch congratulations! If you don’t mind , would you tell which scholarship? Also are you a US citizen? Thanks

@Andretulloch Congrats! Could you possibly share your stats with us? Only if you’re comfortable tho.

Thank you for making this thread, much appreciated!

Congrats!

U of R is such a fabulous school. Our older daughter is a sophomore there. She applied ED her year and it was her dream school.

Our younger daughter has also applied (senior in HS now) however not ED. She applied regular decision, as she didn’t want something binding. She is keeping an eye on finances so there will be lots to figure out when all of the decisions have been delivered.

In any case, U of R really is phenomenal. I think just about anyone who goes there will LOVE it and will have an amazing educational journey.

Does anyone know when regular decisions will be released for students who applied for priority deadline of December 1? Thank you

@Andretulloch: congrats on your achievement and choosing UR! My son graduated in May 2018 with two degrees and is now doing well in a full time Molecular Bio PhD program. Through the benefit of hindsight I can confidently say that UR was the PERFECT school for him. I sincerely wish you and all the other incoming freshman the best in your academic careers and I hope you also find UR to be the perfect fit for you.

@AJC I’m a current first-year at U of R and applied RD by the priority deadline last year. I received my admissions decision in mid-February. Good luck and feel free to message me with any questions!
