Planning on majoring in Math/Economics.

I've heard demonstrated interest is important, so I went to info sessions, will interview in the fall, will visit, and I'm sure I can write a good "Why Rochester?" essay (haven't really thought about the other essay that much).

Was also considering applying ED, but will need FA, so I'm hesitant to get locked in to Rochester. EFC is ~$18,000 on the collegeboard calculator, but will only be contributing around $9,000. Anyone know how Rochester FA compares to the collegeboard EFC? I tried the estimator on their site, but it wasn't working. Also, a FA representative told me that Rochester just adds need based aid and merit aid ($22,000 for NMF) together, is this true?

If you write a solid essay and do an interview, you’re in. Rochester admissions really cares about those personal kinds of things. But I don’t know about applying ED. I did because I was concerned about getting in, and I got screwed over financially, even though my EFC is pretty low. May be something to consider. I know many people who have great merit scholarships who applied regular. It will also give you more time to make your essay top notch.

your chances are slightly better than average, that being said your SAT and ACT is very impressive and demonstrated interest goes a long way.
