Has anyone heard back yet? What were your stats and to what program?
Good luck everyone!
Has anyone heard back yet? What were your stats and to what program?
Good luck everyone!
Got accepted over the weekend!
I remember how much looking at other’s stats helped guide me through deciding on schools. So here you go:
Current GPA: 3.86, coming from a community college in Denver, CO.
HS GPA: 2.1 (I was a lazy punk); I also went to a community college in Houston, TX about 10 years ago, only managed a 2.74 GPA and didn’t finish.
Major: History
Non-traditional and first-gen student
Extra Curricular: President of Phi Theta Kappa’s Colorado/Wyoming region and former Vice President of Honors in Action in my college’s PTK chapter; I am my college’s State Student Advisor Council representative (a group of students from student governments that lobby and advocate for community colleges to the state and federal government) and we actually passed a bill that we created this year to allow international and out-of-state students to be on the council; President of Astronomy Club; Vice President of Philosophy club; member of communication club; peer tutor in my college’s success center (I tutor history, English, psychology, Spanish, and communications); a few other minor things.
Awards I’ve won: PTK Colorado All-state Academic team; Coca-Cola All-academic team bronze scholar; the regional officer team of the PTK region I’m President of won an award for excellence in leadership; CCCS Rising Star (given to 2 students from each college in the system yearly); nominated for student of the year (fingers still crossed that I win).
My ultimate advice for getting into this school is to show that you embrace many different academic disciplines and DEFINITELY do an interview. They also love Phi Theta Kappa members.
Still waiting.
If you could check my chance, I really appreciate you.
Standing: Freshman with 29 credits at the end of this semester
Current GPA: 4.0, from Penn State University
Midterm Report: 4 As + 1 A-
HS GPA: 3.87
Major: International Relations
Dean’s List, Honor Program
Extra Curricular: President of HS Model UN Association, Vice President of School Alumni in PA area, Vice President of Graduation Committee in HS, Intern in Chinese Student Association, Dais in Model UN conference.
Award: President Freshman Award, Model UN Award, National Economic Competition Award, Person of the Year in HS.
I feel really nervous after getting rejection by UNC and UMich, and now Rochester is my number one.
@YifanXu
Got accepted today with 4.0 college gpa and 3.5 HS gpa (also a freshman with ~31 credits)
Judging that you’ve got more ECs and awards than me, if you had strong essays, I’d assume you have a great chance! Best of luck
Congratulations!!!
Thanks!!!
@misterxfer @holmium7389 when did you submit your application? I submitted mine the March 15th and did an interview as well; however, I am still waiting on a response.
@AdamHam123 Do not worry. I submitted mine the March 15th and did the interview April 6th. Still waiting lol good luck bro
I got accepted on the 17th but didn’t see it until two days ago haha because Gmail filtered my acceptance email into the Spam folder =.=
Current GPA: 3.96 from University of Denver
International transfer student for Computer Science. Though, I would technically be a Junior, they said I will probably have to stay until 2022 to finish the degree.
I haven’t received my FA package yet, and that would honestly play a very big role in deciding whether or not I go to UR next year haha.
@Treedophile Congrats!
I am still waiting for the decision. Got rejection from UNC, UMich, and WFU. Almost desperate about the result. I feel Jealous about you guys lol.
@YifanXu I hope you get in!
I submitted my application by 3/15 as well, it did take them a bit longer than they said it would to release my decision. Not sure if you’ve heard yet, but maybe they have a good bit more applicants than normal?
My understanding this is sort of a rolling admissions process. application went in back in Jan and heard back as soon as they started sending admissions letters end of march. The later you got yours in the longer you’ll wait to hear. looking at older posts from previous years, some people didnt hear until may or even June. Stay patient.
Just an update for everyone, I still haven’t heard back and the wait is killing me because I’m trying to look for off-campus housing for next year. They said the priority deadline (March 15th) would hear back in 4-6 weeks. If I had known that applying in January was better, I would’ve done that!
Okay I actually just called and they said my decision is in the second round and should come out in 7 business days. Please pray that they like me and I get in!
just got my acceptance along with the Deans Scholarship. Coming from finishing my Senior year with a sub 2.0 GPA (illness and lack of maturity), this is unbelievable. This is just testament to anybody who is considering giving up: don’t. You’re capable of anything you set your mind to. You just have to work at it.
Congrats buddy!!! Did they inform you via mail or email?
Yo, I lowkey still haven’t received my FA package yet even though I was accepted all the way back on April 17th. Hmm…
So, it’s been 7 business days and still nothing. I still have some hope though.
Accepted
