I'm looking at University of Rochester and saw they offer the Renaissance scholarship and some other nice possibilities. Does anybody know what it might take to get a Renaissance? I got a 2270 on the new sat (I think thats about a 1510 on the old?), three 5's and a 4 on AP tests, and my sat II's are in the 770 - 800 range. But the "top 1%" sounds kind of scary - I have no idea how many really good students are applying to University of Rochester. Does anybody know what kind of students the "top 1%" are? Do I have a chance?

It appears that the chances of getting the Renaissance scholarship (full tuition) are equal to HYP admission acceptance. They get enough applications in the 2200-2400 SAT range and superlative GPA's that they are looking at recs and EC's in much the same way as the Ivies. Figure out what makes you stand out from the crowd and give it a shot. You really don't have anything to lose as it involves no more paperwork than the regualr application.
