I just recieved this email from Uof SC saying… The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships has received the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In order for our office to begin communicating with you about your financial aid application, you will need to establish your on-line identity.
What does this mean? Does it mean I got accepted? (decisions dont come out till March)
No it doesn’t mean that you’ve been accepted. FA and admissions aren’t the same office.
The letter sounds like you need to set up your online USC portal or some sort of online account.
Does the letter say anything else?

This letter means nothing about acceptance.
It means the school wants your contact information, likely to set up your student portal. However, usually that happens when your application is submitted.
When did you apply to this school?
@luckypinky1
Do you HAVE a student portal for U of SC already?
yes @thumper1, the email instructed me to create a second portal on a different webite
@luckypinky1
Give the school a call tomorrow and make sure this is what you should be doing.
A different website within the USC system??
It might be right…but check.
@thumper1 yes, the first one is a portal to access my application and the other is for financial aid… both through U of South Carolinas website.
Let us know if you get accepted! Good luck!
