Has anyone accepted to 2013 U Penn's Summer Academy in Applied Science and Technology (SAAST)? especially in Computer Graphics program?

anyone…?

My daughter did the CG program in the past. She loved it, had a lot of fun, and learned a lot. Did you have a specific question or are you wanting to find others in your group? They are fairly small classes and most are not on CC.

@LakeLightning, thank you for the reply. I have several questions. I was wondering whether the program will provide or teach some programing concepts? What is the class schedule like, and will the program mainly focus on how to use Maya or will the professor also teach some arts, drawing, animation, or computer graphics concepts? Are there any outdoor activities in the daytime, what kind of activities will they have at night, and how many students are there per room in the dorm? Were the RTAs and TAs from the DMD program?

Will your daughter be interested in applying for a college major in the computer graphics area? How helpful did the program help to understand the field?

Thank you very much, and sorry for having so many questions.

The course primarily focused on Maya, although they did drawing and clay prior to their 3D training. It was a professionally taught course and gave the kids a good intro to 3D modeling. They were roomed in doubles (2/room) in the quad. The TAs were mostly DMDers. There is a lot more information on the SAAST CG page:

Good luck. You’ll have a lot of fun and be very busy all three weeks!
