I am a senior in high school and came across u-promise and it looks like a good thing to do. However, would it be a waste of time to do since I am already a senior and going to college in 4 months?
Also, how does the money get converted from the savings you've earned to a check or money that can be applied towards tuition at the college I will be attending

Upromise is worthwile, even though you are a HS senior. I don't think there is any upper age limit to participate.

My family has been using Upromise for about 4 years. Son is in college.
How much actual money you will realize from Upromise depends on how serious you are using all the 'tools' on the site.
We always link through upromise for online shopping and earn 1-8% of purchase at sites we would use anyway, like LLBean, Landsend, etc.
You need to register your credit card for online purchases to work.
I also register my grocery cards at all stores I frequent and earn a few cents here and there when shopping.
Since we are not rabid 'upromisers', we earn only about $60/year; one text, maybe???

I do know others who apply more techniques on the site and earn much more.
Still don't think it's a way to pay real life size college bills!

You can have upromise link earnings to a 529 college plan or, like we do, send a regular old paper check once or twice a year. Info on the site.

I also use this and it paid for books last year. I sometimes "forget" to go through their site when I online order things but now they have a reminder you can download. I do a lot of shopping online and also have a Upromise Visa that I just use for things that they cover. Between my grocery shopping, online purchases and some restaurants and companies they use, it does add up. The percentage can be 2% to 10% depending on the store, but anything they give me is more than I would of had before.
I also say "go for it". You have quite a few years of school ahead.
