My son applied to 9 schools regular decision. Has been accepted to 6 with merit and honors college acceptances, and is waiting on 3, including Richmond. In the interim between applying and receiving a decision, all of the schools he applied to with the exception of Richmond have stayed in contact via emails, encouragement to apply for merit, updates promoting the college/curriculum, etc. I know their RD decision doesn’t come out for a while, but Richmond is the only school to remain radio silent since acknowledging receipt of his application in November. Just curious if that has been other’s experience.

I don’t think my son received any email from Richmond after he applied EA. He was admitted. So I don’t think their radio silence is cause for concern.

Same and I find it ‘interesting’ for a college that is small and supposedly cares about demonstrated interest. Not sure they’re sending the right message to applicants

Does anyone know if Richmond ever releases decisions early? They are scheduled for 4/1 I believe and wondering if the decisions might come earlier?

My daughters experience has been same. In their defense, a few of the others she has applied to have also gone under radio silence.

Their site says “mid-March” and has been earlier than 4/1 past few years. I’m expecting next week is likely.

Last year was 3/18

They sent an email saying decisions are scheduled to come out on 3/17 at 7 pm

Results are out. Is nobody admitted here?
DD is in. That was her dream school, but it looks that Richmond changed number of students on FAFSA and messed up my daughter’s FA…

My son was waitlisted. :pensive:

Daughter is waitlisted. She will not accept a spot on the waitlist because she has other options that she is happy with. Good luck to everyone!

I was deferred EA and waitlisted RD. Disappointed because I visited the campus several times, have met and emailed my admissions counselor multiple times, and participated in online webinars. I know everything is going to workout, it’s just hard having to wait even more. Hoping for better news in the next couple days from my other schools.

SAT 1430/ACT 32
All A’s, plenty of ECs

Richmond is doing something very strange this year. DD’s friend was deferred EA and admitted with Presidential Scholarship RD. Why would you deffer Presidential Scholar?

I do not think Richmond pays so much attention to vebinar attendance etc. like Tulane. DD visited once on Saturday. She did not emailed anybody or attended any single vebinar. I am not sure that there were interviews with Richmond.

That is surprising. The only thing I can think of is an incomplete application at the EA decision date. I read about another univ deferring incomplete EA apps to the RD pool so maybe… :woman_shrugging: :woman_shrugging:

Nope, all was complete. The girl is quite smart and is with 3000 service hours. When my daughter was deferred she was very excited to be deferred in such a good company  I think literally everyone whom she knows who applied EA was deferred. We even had a theory that Richmond either accepted or deferred during EA but not rejected due to an astronomical number of deferrals.

Congratulations to your daughter! What numbers were changed? I am not sure what you mean by “changed number of students in college”…
