So I thought it might be interesting to meet my fellow U.S. applicants, since some of our processes/deadlines are different than for Canadian students.

So...err...introduce yourself?

-- from nyc...and so anxious to hear back from mcgill!! my school is so frusterating; the counselor still hasnt sent out my transcript/teacher rec.s even though i sent in my application a month ago...

from L.A. first choice. in love with this school.

From Hawaii, Canadian citizen, also completely head over heels for McGill

I'm from Michigan. Don't know if McGill is my FIRST choice, but it's definitely in my top two. My cousin also goes there.

When do we start to here back? On the website there was some really vague deadline like January 31 to March 7.

D from (where else?) Maine.

I'm from CT and I really like Mcgill.
I'm just concerned that it's a bit big..and a bit cold.

coffeetoffee--Yeah, my cousin said depending on the subject classes can be really big (ex: psych=huge, lit=<30). I guess if we get in we'll have to weigh that against the pros.

P.S. Your name makes me hungry. Our local ice cream place makes coffee toffee ice cream which is very tasty.

From NY here. McGill is my first choice, and I'm only applying to one other school, so I'm betting a lot on this school.
I'm a bit concerned about my end-of-semester transcript, because my school won't be able to send it until the very end of January even though the deadline for applications is Mid-Jan. Or is there a later deadline for submitting documents?

Don't worry about this semester's grades. My school has exactly the same system (we have exams starting January 24). I believe they make their decision based on the rest of your transcript, and you just send in a mid-year report so they know you aren't slacking off or being stupid now that you're in.

hi! i'm jill. i'm from rhode island. mcgill is my top choice too!!

So, I'm curious--how did everyone hear about McGill?

The family visited Montreal a few years (and we were not on a college tour) and we were in the area and so went for a walk on campus. We had heard the name earlier, but I can't pinpoint an exact source for that.

from colorado. i really like mcgill. i'm excited. i became interested in mcgill through a friend who actually happens to go to penn now. the end.

hola, from Pittsburgh, PA. ABSOLUTELY enamored with the school; so gorgeous, couldn't dream of going anywhere else :D

p.s. Montreal is the greatset city, who could refuse going? who!?

Jeremybeach--Your birthday is the same as mine! That's weird...

WHATTTTTTTT!?!?!? i've never met anyone w/my birthday!! lol. Wow, that is seriously some crazy fate right there.

Hi, I'm from Massachusetts, and I'm Canadian/ have Canadian citizenship. I've visited the campus so many times because I grew up in Montreal and Toronto. I'm completely in love with the school, and really want to hear back from it ASAP. It sucks that we don't hear back until January 31st, at the earliest!

I have to say, it was really by chance that I heard of McGill. It was during Sept and I was sitting in the college office of my high school and wondering about all the US schools I should apply to, when my eyes landed on a poster for McGill on the wall. I decided that I liked the name, quickly Googled it, and lo and behold, it ain't a bad school at all. I did some more research, and I have never looked at another school since.
