U.S. Cellular at Cornell

I know there are other posts about cellphones, but does anyone use US Cellular? they are primarily Midwest and thats what my family plan is. Their website shows that roaming is available there, but I wanted to know if anyone has used this service there or has a friend who has and how it worked.

Thanks!

I've personally never heard of anyone using that carrier. The services that work the best in Ithaca are Verizon and AT&T.

You could always wait until you arrive in Ithaca to see how your service is. If it works, great. But roaming charges can add up quickly. You and your family could always consider a prepaid plan for use while in Ithaca if it is financially possible.

any others?

bump........

Well, considering I've never even heard of it... I'd say you might want to explore other options.

no the ONLY service that works 100% of the time in ithaca is verizon. dont waste your time with at&t

^For real?!? Aww i just swiched from sprint to att

for sure verizon

Like others have said....AT&T works in most places. Verizon works everywhere....even in the elevators and underground.

does anyone know if tmobile has at least some reception in WEST CAMPUS?

T-Mobile has reception on West, central campus, and Ctown. It is spotty inside of buildings tho. Very little to no reception on North.

Cool, that means i dont need to change my plan until actual school starts
But Tmobile is definitely usable in the West?

Yes its usable on West but may not get reception inside some of the buildings on West on in classrooms on central

if you go with verizon are you bound to using their phones? im from canada so im totally clueless

I believe so.

Titan I can't speak to Cornell specifically, but I use U.S. Cellular and I'm in New England. When my daughter and I were touring colleges, U.S. Cellular worked everywhere we went, including Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, New Jersey. I think you'll be fine.

whats the best service in college town besides verizon. do at&t, sprint or tmobile get reception indoors? thnaks

Anyone know how good of reception alltel gets on campus?

I don't know a single person who has Alltel. The best service for ctown would be Verizon and if not then AT&T.

I have almost two years left on my contract with T-mobile.
What would be the best option for me? Is there a way to terminate the contract without penalty?
