Hi,
I have heard of McGill having lower requirements for foreign nationals as they pay more in tuition fees.
I was going over the McGill application, and it specifically asks if the application is eligible for Quebec tuition.
I attend a U.S. high school but as of now I am eligible for Quebec tuition. Will this harm my application as I am applying from a U.S. high school but they know if they admit me they will only get Quebec tuition. Will I be subject to more stringent requirements when compared to those who would be paying foreign fees?

I would take this with a grain of salt.
What is your unweighted GPA (if possible, without 9th grade)? Do you have SAT scores?
For what is is worth (probably not much), my older daughter was in a position where she was coming from a US high school but would be paying resident of Quebec tuition. To me it looked like all of the universities in Canada where she and younger sister applied, including McGill, were treating us as “family members coming home for the first time”, which is to say very well. Between them my daughters were 7 for 7 for acceptances to universities in Canada.
You will be evaluated as an American applicant as your stats are on the American system. If your stats do not at least meet the ,minimum requirements you will be denied, regardless of citizenship.
@DadTwoGirls
Just curious what the criteria was that qualified your D for Quebec Tuition - possibly because you (parent) were a Quebec resident at one time?? My daughters are also dual citizens but probably fall under the Canadian Non-Quebec status but just checking given your comment. Thx
No, they’re not more stringent if you pay Quebec tuition. However you do need to meet their requirements for American HS students: test scores are a minimum cutoff below which your application won’t be considered and classes listed as pre-reqs are mandatory.

My daughter was (and older daughter still is) a Canadian citizen who had never lived in Canada. At the time McGill referred to this as a “Canadian born abroad”.
@DadTwoGirls yes thanks - see it on the McGill site now - applies to my D as well. Sorry OP - did not mean to take thread off course.
@my2caligirls no worries! I too qualify for Quebec Residency as a Canadian citizen/resident who has lived in Canada for under 3 months.
This having been brought up I actually had a question about getting Quebec tuition this way.
In total I have stayed in Canada for just about a month in my whole life. Rest of the time has been abroad. The fine print says to qualify for Quebec residency, one must have lived outside for less than 3 months but also have lived in Quebec for 3 months or more.
How would I satisfy the “lived in Quebec for 3 months” requirement before classes begin? (As I only plan on going to Canada sometime in the summer before I begin uni.)
Also, when I apply, should I apply as eligible for Quebec residency or not. (Since I have not as of yet lived in Quebec for 3 months.)
Thanks for all the responses.
