U.S. High School Student applying for McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

I really want to get admitted in McGill University (so maybe it’s my dream school) but I’m really terrified I won’t get in. Petrified, stupefied. I thought that everything I’ve done so far would’ve made it a guarantee but I had a rough junior year. I joined 7 extracurricular activities including Honors Orchestra and National Honors Society, have done over 100 hours of volunteering, and will have completed 12 AP classes by the time I’m done with high school. The thing is McGill is all new territory, and I don’t know anyone who goes there or who wants to. Their requirements said an A average and I was able to maintain A’s for like all of freshman and sophomore year but last year I got an 85 in both physics and pre-cal first semester? I wish they took into consideration on the difficulty level of advanced classes. I’m in my school’s top 3% which qualifies for automatic admissions into my state but I just really have this sense of abandoning this place, thus my getaway to McGill. I’ve still got a 3.9 GPA and a 4.6 weighted GPA. (I know I’m rambling but I’m the first one in my family to apply for undergrad school in the United States so I literally have no idea what I’m doing. SOS send help! :(( )

Admission to McGill is strictly by the numbers: Unweighted GPA and SAT/ACT scores. EC’s, essays, rec letters are not considered. Here are the minimum requirements for admission:

they vary considerable depending on the program to which you are applying.
