U.S. House of Representatives Page

I just received a much awaited email regarding the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program. It states that I will be receiving the nomination from my local congressman's office. Does this automatically guarantee me a spot? A long (18 page) application was attached, which ambiguously implied that the Speaker of the House (or in my case the Minority Leader) would make the final appointments. When discussing congressional pages, various representative's websites imply that their nomination guarantees a spot. In fact the email I received regarding my nomination stated "We heard the news a few hours ago (as you will see on the below email) that you will be a page and the page application is attached."

Confused????

I have never gone to this program, however what I have picked up from researching it is that after your congressperson nominates you you still have to be accepted by the page board (or something). So no, getting the nomination does not mean that you will get to go.
