U.S. News Rankings

I know that US News has two separate rankings for universities and liberal arts colleges but I was wondering if anybody knew where within the university rankings Amherst would stand. Does anyone have an official list that they put out that I might have overlooked? thanks for any help.

Honestly, try to not put too much emphasis on any of those lists. Once you're in the top portion of either one you know you're dealing with some darn good schools, regardless whether they're number three, seven, or twenty-seven.

I'd say that a comparison would not even be very meaningful. If USNWR is supposed to be a measure of undergraduate educational quality, then imho the top LAC's would beat all the top universities. If USNWR is supposed to be a measure of prestiege (it's often criticized, probably accurately, for doing exactly that) then the top LAC's would definitely lose to HYPSM and probably schools below that as well.

US News only has separate standings.
This link might be of interest though.

Also, looking at SAT score ranges, acceptance rate, alumni giving rate, etc. in USNWR can help compare the two lists.
