U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

I received an email from the U.S. Department of Education about the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. I’ve done some basic research about it and it seems to be a legit program. However, I was wondering if Northwestern gave any scholarship money if I were to be selected.

Email the admissions office or just check the website.

The program is “legit”. I was a 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholarship. However, there was no monetary scholarship associated with it. Additionally, because only 161 students in the US receive the scholarship each year, no university offers a scholarship just for the U.S. Presidential Scholarship. That being said, if the university knows you are a scholar or a semifinalist before they give you your financial aid and scholarship package, you may receive more money.
