Hey everyone,
I know that the program is really exclusive, and I was wondering if my resume is competitive enough right now. I am a rising sophomore and will be applying next year. Currently, I have a 4.4GPA (W), book club, Latin club, Yearbook, and the school paper. I've also done leadership in my school, and won a couple academic awards. I will probably be in NHS next year too. The only thing is that none of this shows an interest in government...what do you suggest??

Thanks!
P.S. If you have been a senate page can you tell me your experience :)

Hi! I was a Senate Page Fall of 2013! If you have any questions feel free to ask
In my experience, I didn’t have any extracurriculars or activities related to government and neither did most of the other Pages. After all, you’re only a sophomore when you apply.
Thank you so much for replying! I just found out my state is not sponsoring any pages, but I am really determined to get into this program. Did you by any chance apply with a different state’s senator or know anyone that did and got in?
No problem! A few of the Page’s states didn’t have sponsoring Senators. What they did was apply through the majority or minority leader’s offices, since they get to sponsor more than one Page.
I actually just called all of my senator’s offices and finally I got through to someone that told me no pages were being sponsored. I contacted many other offices in other states that have told me they don’t sponsor out of state applicants also. Hope this helps! @JTlover12
@Southfloridaguy : It really depends. Some find out mid April while others find out in May or even June. Since different Senators find out about sponsorship at different times, your best bet would be to contact the Page Intern Coordinator. I would say keep calling them and contacting them so they know you’re interested.
