I have a question about the Senate Page program- I will be entering my junior year…is it too late to apply? I just called my rep the other day and received the application and all the information and I would want a summer position anyway. But I am very worried about it being too late to apply and even be considered- did everyone apply in spring?

@polkahard Heh I hear TASP-ers saying TASP was the best experience of their life; did you really like politics before you applied for the Page Program? Did you still have time to do summer studying too as a summer page, and was there any Page school?

hi,
i am interested in the page program for the spring or summer session in 2012. can somebody give me a quick description of the program? is the school very hard? i’ve heard that it is pretty intense so i’m getting a little scared to apply.
Thanks!

The 2 Wikipedia pages are very detailed: [United States Senate Page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Page of the United States Senate - Wikipedia)
[United States House of Representatives Page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Page of the United States House of Representatives - Wikipedia)

With a name like libertyfreedom you must like politics! I’m thinking of applying too.

I’m currently a junior in high school and I’d appreciate some help with the application process. I’d like to go during one of the summer sessions.

Am I allowed to apply to both my senators and a representative? I’d like to increase my chances of getting in but I’m not sure if this is allowed. Also, does the minority/majority allotment affect my chances drastically? Thank you for your help!

@shyoo100: You can apply to both your senators and representatives. Now is a good time because you actually know who your House Representatives are after the mid-terms. You can apply to any representative in your state by the way. It’s their decision, so minority/majority may or may not matter to them.

Thank you for your prompt reply! I’m still a little hesitant on how to approach my senators/congressman for sponsorship. Did you email or call to inquire?

I haven’t yet applied to anyone because I was scared. I don’t have any teachers that I stand out to that I would ask for recommendations. Another note: The 112th Congress does not convene until January 4th. Their aides will probably be taking any requests, but maybe give them some time to get settled into their offices!

I am definately scared as well! I’ll keep checking the sites and hopefully sum up the courage to call their office

When do replies come out?

Hello,

I was just notified that I was accepted to be a page in the Fall. I’m really curious about what it’ll be like. Can anyone give me any information? Thanks.

Were you accepted as a Senate Page or a House Page? My daughter was accepted as a Senate page and we’re curious to see who will be joining her in D.C. this fall.

I will be heading to Washington this fall to be a U.S. Senate page under Thad Cochran.

Really looking forward to the experience!

I am the fall senate page from Oklahoma. I am sponsored by (Rep) Senator Inhofe. Looking forward to being in D.C. as well.

is it possible to be a page for an out of district representative or senator if you really admire the person?

I don’t have the greatest GPA. As of now (rising junior), I have a 2.6…If I raise it this year, do I stand a chance of getting into either program? I’m looking at summer terms.

Oh, wow. I just got back to this forum after a month! Who of you are excited for this fall?

P.S. I’m being sponsored by Tim Johnson of South Dakota.

Hi! I’m applying to be a Senate page during the July Session. I was wondering if you could read my letter of inquiry and tell me if there are other things I should write. I also wanted to know if you could give me specifics on how the application process worked. Did you write a letter of inquiry, give recommendations or what? I just feel that the whole process is a little vaguely described on my Senators website.

Hello,
To apply, do I have to call the senator’s office and ask about the senate page program? Is there specific things to say to them when asking for an application? Also, if I live in Massachusetts, do I have to be a senate page for the MA senate?
