U.S senate page?

anyone heard about the summer session yet?

I already sent my app in, but my Senator’s app deadline is April 13th. So I don’t think we will be hearing anything anytime soon.

I live in North Carolina. Contacted my senator and his office told me that they couldn’t nominate anyone to be a Senate Page. Nominations are based on seniority and neither of my senators have enough seniority to nominate.

Does anyone know about this part of the program? Thanks!

Burr almost became Whip, so I doubt seniority/influence was that big a thing. Senior Senators definitely have more power, but I think Sen. Tester sponsored a page some time back, and he’s a freshman. But there are only 30 Pages–16 for the majority and 14 for the minority, so not every Senator can sponsor a Page. Try again for he fall or spring semester. if you are a sophomore this year, you can try for next summer, too.

My son heard by phone last week. He will serve in the first summer session. Coincidentally, his friend in another state also heard that he will serve in the second summer session. I don’t think they call everyone on the same day. I could be wrong, but I have the impression that they contact people one at a time in order to make sure that everyone is still interested and they don’t have conflicts that have arisen since they applied. I know that we were told they aren’t sending out packets for another week or two. Good luck to everyone who applied!

@happykidsmom- what states are your son and his friend from? im just trying to figure out if my state has already selected someone.

Cheetos, call your own Senator if you want official info.

Congratulations! I just heard from Harry Reid’s office last week that I got into the first summer session as well! I can’t week. They said that the information packets won’t be out for several weeks.

I also know another girl, also from my school, who is in the first summer session too.

Can anyone tell me the dates for the two summer sessions? And should all senators know by now whether or not they can nominate a page for one of the sessions?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that the first session is from June to July. Or maybe it’s in May? I do know that the second session is from July to August, though. I think all the Senators are on a different schedule? Because my Senator’s application is due tomorrow (I already sent it), while others have already been chosen.

i keep calling the california office about any news, but they never tell me anything! they keep saying that they are still in the process. does anyone know when they might finalize everything? summer’s coming up soon.

Chill… Be patient. And you should be calling the DC office. That’s where the page coordinator should be.

I’m from Washington state and I’m wondering how you apply to be one? I can’t really find any information on my Senators page do I just fill out both of there contact forms? Thanks for the help in advance!

ybmtl4, great for you! Tell me how it goes; I’d love to know everything I can about the experience.

briellelovesyou, I hope this helps.

[Senate Page Program - United States Senator Patty Murray](http://www.murray.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=SenatePageProgram)

I applied for the 2013 spring session too! Nobody seems to be talking about athletics, and those are my biggest ECs, seeing as they take up at least 14 hours a week, 10 months a year for me. Do they count much for this program?

For people who have gotten in, what did your extracurriculars and grades look like?

Hey I’m from CA, has anyone heard anything?? I would think that they would tell you if you made it or not…

Not sure about the summer, but I applied for the Fall 2012 semester and I’ve been told the Page school needed the fall page names by July 23rd. My senator’s office said to expect an answer around the first week in July. So I wait.

Anyone out there applying for Fall 2012?

sdl2014, I have also applied for the Fall of 2012 session. What state are you from?
