U.S. Students Taking SAT IIs Abroad

Okay, I'm a U.S. student in a strange position. First off, I'm a college junior and I recently decided that I want to pursue a French minor. My college gives 6 credits to students who score a 640 or higher on the SAT II French subject test. This would save me some time and ensure that I graduate on time as I'm trying to complete another minor as well.

However, I didn't take this particular test in high school. From what I've heard, college students are allowed to take the SAT IIs (for transferring schools, or whatever purposes). The problem is, I might need to take the French with Listening, which is only available during the November testing date. I'll be studying abroad in Hong Kong at that time. Has anyone had any experience (or know of friends/aquaintances) on taking these exams in foreign countries, any particulars I should be aware of, etc.? Thanks.

Apparently Hong Kong is a popular destination for mainland Chinese students wanting to write the SATs (b/c the SATs aren’t offered on the mainland except in international schools, or something along those lines) so the Hong Kong test centres tend to fill up quickly.

I live abroad, and, if I remember correctly, there is an international charge. Other than that, I 've never had any problem with the test in itself (I get my scores on the right days, the time is the same, etc.)

Good luck!
