is it bad if i put that a president was in the wrong party? like democrat instead of republican, or vice versa? lol

or is it one of those "minor errors"

I didn't think the test was easy at all =[
I took AP Euro last year, and the essays were way easier than the ones on APUSH today. Probably because the essays I picked were all from time periods that I knew a lot about, and because euro gives you 3 choices.

Today's MC was easy for the first half, but it got a lot more difficult and obscure after that.

Initially, I thought the DBQ topic was horrible, since that is my least favorite time period, but then I realized that I knew a lot of outside info about it. Hoping for a 7 or 8.

FRQs= #3 & #5
3= relatively easy..I had enough to say about it..pretty good thesis. But I'm not sure I included enough details about the examples I used (like the ones that they usually have on the scoring guidelines)
5= I only did this one because I did not know enough for 4. I knew a lot about one of choices, but not much about the other one..hopefully, my score for this one is a 5+.

How many paragraphs did you guys write for the essays?

How many paragraphs did you guys write for the essays?

DBQ - 5 paragraphs, 4 pages long.
FRQ #3 - 4 paragraphs, 2 pages long.
FRQ #5 - 4 paragraphs, 3 pages long.

If everyone thought it was easy, and I thought it was more difficult, that's probably not a good sign for me.

I was in panic for like 30 seconds after seeing the DBQ, but then I read the documents, and I remembered a whole bunch of stuff. Questions two and three were awful, and I barely wrote a page and a half about number 3. I loved question 5, and did much better. Hopefully my good Q1 and 5 will make up for my god-awful Q3.

Oh thank God I'm not the only one who only did 4 paragraphs for each of the choose two essays. I was freaking out thinking I'd done it wrong, but I really couldn't figure out a 5th paragraph for both.

I found the pleasently easy! Our APUSh class actually had a in class essay really similar to the DBQ. Multi wasnt too bad, there were some random questions though. Since alot of people thought it was easy does that mean the curve is going to be harsh? :(

I agree, the test was easy in some respects, but that's not a particularly good thing (daydreamed for about 5 min in the middle of test and didn't get to the last two problems). For the essays I did 2 and 4, but I wish I would have done 3 instead. Also (without saying too much I hope) I wrote mouse instead of moose for that one party.

So m/c easy though didn't finish
DBQ and last essay great
middle paper horrible

Got a 5 on practice, hope that stays. Also I wrote a 2.5 page DBQ, but most people said they wrote four, so I hope I just wrote small or somthing.

curve is constant, its not like the SATs where it's based on the year

Am I the only one who wrote FR #2 and #5?? none of my friends or CCers did #2/#5 combination... well I think DBQ was perfect for me, but after finishing it, I realized that I had not put one of the document in.... how much would that affect DBQ's score??

I hate my online course now officially! I took APUSH online, did the work, and would have known nothing on that test. The good part is that I went online this morning for some last minute studying, and I found a website that covered a few of the topics on the multiple choice. Thank goodness!!
Anywho, for my question. I was just wondering exactly how essays are scored. Does anyone know of any sites with previously written essays along with their scores? I know I probably made a 2 or 3 with all of them, but I just want to check. It wasn't that my writing was horrific, but I made a lot of generalizations because I could only remember a few significant details.

you do not need all the documents for a high score on the dbq. i think youre only expected to use about 8 of them, and i got 8 of them in =)

Even eight is excessive. TCB does not always use relevant documents. I believe that I used five or so today. Outside information is far more important.

I only used 6 docuements, couldnt figure out how to use a few of them in my essay.

Looking at the student responses to last year's questions in the FR section, I noticed that they labeled the question they're answering, the part, and the page (like 2A, 2 of 4) AND circled the question number they answered in the box area. Is it okay if I only circled the question I was answering in the box area? I never put page numbers on there or anything else....just circled the number.

yeah thats fine.

I personally find it a little frustrating that so much information was not included in the test at all. Like, huge time periods (I'm talking maybe 30 year spans) that I really studied and knew a lot about didn't seem to appear anywhere on the test. Maybe one little question, if anything. Totally obscure, too, and annoyingly specific. DBQ was frustrating... I'd studied a lot about that period but always looked past that aspect of it because I found it boring. :-P. FRQ's were alright.

Anticipating a 3 or 4.

I think I did well enough for a 4 or a 5, hopefully the 5 MC that I omitted do not come back to haunt me. The essays weren't that bad though.

I know what you mean by the MC, I too was a little bit annoyed by the subject matter.

I chose 2 and 5. I thought those were the easiest. I knew a really good amount about 2. I did a project on one of the ones I chose in 7th grade and actually really remembered it, and the other was something we covered decently well in class.

Also, you're not expected to use all of the documents. You used plenty.

I know what you mean by the MC, I too was a little bit annoyed by the subject matter."

My teacher said that to get a 4 or a 5, it's good to aim for less than 20 wrong or omitted, and less than 12 wrong or omitted for a 5 if you want the best chance.

Breakdown:

MC: Not too bad. I omitted 4, and I hope that I missed less than 15.
DBQ: WONDERFUL. That was probably the best DBQ I could have hoped for. I just knew a lot about it. I wrote 4 pages and used 9 documents, though two of my documents were in a pretty lame paragraph. I wrote 7 paragraphs.
FRQ: I'm hoping I did well on these. I wrote 4 pages each, so I'm hoping to get a 5+ on both. I did pretty good on #2, because I seemed to remember it pretty well, but I basically BSed the vast majority of #5. On 2 I wrote 6 paragraphs and on 5 I wrote 5.

Ideally this will be enough to secure me a 5. It depends on how kindly they graded my essays. I'm also highly concerned that my handwriting wasn't legible enough, but I did as much as I could to keep it legible. My hand was cramping really really really bad so it was hard to control.

wow. i have never written a frq before. i also called a certain progressive, a democrat. whoops.
