I am a junior in HS, i am expected to get around a 1300 for my SAT's and am planning on taking the ACT's (28-30).
So what do you think my chances are at Colgate??

With a 1300, I'm sorry that I would have to say that the odds of you getting in are less than the odds of you being rejected.

Other stuff looks good though but I only skimmed it.

I think that u will be fine b/c it never hurts to try

You will most likely get in ED.
You will be waitlisted/rejected in the RD pool.

i disagree. I applied RD with a 4.25 gpa and 1130 SAT's and I got in

There is always a chance. Two D's applied, 1330 and 1360 respectively, first one waitlisted and got in, second one waitlisted and withdrew from waitlist. Always try if it is something you really want, but be sure to have back-ups that you will be satisfied with. Good luck!!!

kimmibee,

Aren't you a minority? I'm not trying to start anything, but you need to specify that when you tell people that they will get in and you use yourself as proof. I would bet that even a white or asian recruited athlete would have a very hard time getting in with that SAT score.

Kimmibee,

Colgate13 has a valid point. Full disclosure is important as to not mislead anyone with 1100 SAT scores as that is an unusually low score for Colgate admission. I realize you may have many redeeming assets to balance the scores you posted but you should state them.

Yeah i'm a minority, but i think that applicants shouldn't doubt themselves and if thats their dream school, then they should go for it. For example, my dream school was (and still kinda is) USC. But i didn't apply because i was scared of the competion. Who knows if i would have gotten in? Thats my whole point in telling ppl to try. It's not like u have to pay an application fee (if u do it online).

Knowing that kimmibee16 is a minority, I feel quite comfortable standing by my original post. You will get in ED, but not in RD.
