U.Va- transfer chances

<p>Applying In-state, Caucasian male
College: James Madison University, Physics Major (freshman)
1st semester: 3.89 GPA
classes: calc 3, chemistry 1, general writing, general communications, intro physics course</p>

<p>Next semester's classes: literature, anthropology, history, psychology, god meaning and morality</p>

<p>Random college info (will include these in my application):
tested out of french at JMU
JMU physics presidential scholar</p>

<p>My brother graduated from UVA Arts & Sciences in May 2005 (Economics)</p>

<p>ECs- I do research with a physics professor to get an idea of what is going on in the physics department, 1-3 hours per week.
I'm planning to get involved in a UVA club next semester.</p>

<p>APs (after senior year): AP Calculus AB/BC- 5, AP Physics C- 5</p>

<p>From high school, I was rejected from UVA (I applied ED, was deferred, then rejected):
3.45 unweighted GPA, 4.04 weighted (4.35 senior year)
1420/2040 SATs (800M, 620V, 620W)
was active in NHS (treasurer) and Math Honor Society</p>

<p>Anyone have an idea of my chances? I visit UVA (a little too) often, and have really been hoping that I can get in for Fall 2007. Thanks!</p>

<p>I would say you have a decent chance. You might want to join some EC's that don't involve science. Try a political club (or even better start one). If i were you i would retake the SAT's.</p>
