U Virginia or Cornell? Opinions appreciated!

lol. Dont hate because you can’t date.
That’s what I would tell that girl.

Hi hoffman_oliver, I was about to go to bed and then I thought that since you’re an international student perhaps it would be good for you to reach out to other international students who might be able to give you their perspectives of how it is to attend UVa. I’m not sure where you’re from, but if you go to [Student Ambassadors](http://www.virginia.edu/iso/StudentAmbassadors/), you’ll be able to reach a student that is hopefully from your home country.

Here’s also a good [International Student Blog](http://wahoo-world.blogspot.com/). As you’ll see, the students (as well as we alums) are super charged about our alma mater. Good luck w/ your exams.

Hey Globalist thanks a lot for your help.

“Oliver, would you be inclined to attend a football game in a sweatshirt and jeans (Cornell), or in a coat and tie (U.Va.)? You won’t be able to cheat and wear the sweatshirt at U.Va., because your date will be wearing a sundress.”

I can’t believe that someone is trying to compare UVA and Cornell football by describing dress codes. I would phrase it like this:

Oliver, would you be inclined to attend a football game with a crowd that is at best 20% full, watching lousy, IVY League athletes (no athletic scholarships allowed) play other lousy IVY League teams in the cold (Cornell), or would you rather go to a game with 60,000 screaming fans in a beautiful college-town setting, to watch BCS conference football that is probably being watched by many at home on ESPN, after of course tailgating all day with the school’s enthusiastic students and proud alumni base (UVA)?

Just to clarify, before people jump all over me, I do not believe all IVY League athletes to be lousy. In fact, in many sports, especially of the non-revenue variety, IVY League athletes are phenomenal. And of course, I would like to congratulate the Big Red for beating the Wahoos in the lacrosse Final Four this year. But, please do not think the football experience at these two schools is comparable.
