i just arrived home last night from visiting mcgill! i really enjoyed the time in montreal, though i have a feeling I was spoiled by the beautiful weather which I'm sure will be uncommon next year. i met with an advisor who told me that I have enough AP credits to go into school as a U1. she said that almost half of the campus was in this situation too. i was wondering if other people end up finishing school in 3 years or if people take easier classes?

i just have no idea where i'm going to go! i'm trying to decide between mcgill and my state school, university of maryland college park, where i would be in the honors program and receive a significant scholarship each year. oh what to do!

yeh i get credits for IB and probably be in U1 as well

but i am not really sure i want to do that..especially since i plan in doing biochem major...i think will take credit for the easy courses and do courses like chem in Mcgill itself....

and I really want to enjoy my first year instead of being stressed out in U1..i hear U1 is major weeding out year and it is extremely hard to get good grades

all the IB people who have taken credit for freshman yr say its the worst thing u can do...

I sure hope u can choose to take credit or not...

Well, all students from Quebec come in as U1. You have a choice, you can either do the normal stream in 3 years, or be more relaxed and take more electives and do it in four. :)

phew! thanks harpgirl! o and double checking, we can take half credits too right? cause i think i'm gonna take the credit for chem 110 but not 120
