Yesterday, UA tested their Emergency Alert email system which DD received via her crimson.ua.edu account.

Is it possible for parents to receive these alerts as well?

If so, how do I sign up?

Tests generally occur on Wednesday. The system only allows for a student to have one phone number for text alerts which will be somewhere on MyBama. Alerts are also sent via email. I receive those from time to time.

In S’s MyBama account his phone number is listed as his cell/mobile phone number and he receives alerts by phone and text, my number is listed as his local number and I also receive the alerts by phone. (After yesterday, I added the number to my address book because when not anticipating a test, a call from an unknown Alabama phone number does make your heart skip a beat :))

Here are the instructions: [The University of Alabama Office of Emergency Preparedness » UA Alerts Instructions?Students](http://prepare.ua.edu/?page_id=1848)

Thanks!

Very comforting to know that one only has to ask…

Roll Tide!!!

My child did not know that it was a drill and freaked out!! She even tweeted #imisshurricanes
