On a side note, “UA also had a record year in sponsored funding for fiscal year 2018, reaching almost $100 million through external grants and contracts for research, instruction, service and fellowship.”
Correction to point 7 made above: There are 101, not 140 more freshman in this year’s Fall class than that of 2018.

Digging a litte deeper into the data reveals some good news for those of us supporting UA’s goal of growing its research profile.
UA Engineering Grad program grew from 431 to 504 students from last Fall to this Fall while the Arts and Sciences Grad program grew by only 4 students, however, since Arts and Sciences includes both STEM and non STEM programs, it is possible that there was also strong growth in the Arts and Sciences STEM grad programs. and offsetting declines in non STEM grad programs . All the other non STEM grad programs like Education and Business and Social Work declined in numbers, so this is a likely thing.
