*TUSCALOOSA, Ala. Marillyn Hewson, executive vice president of Lockheed Martins Electronic Systems business area and a University of Alabama graduate, has moved up to No. 27 in Fortunes annual ranking of Americas 50 most powerful women in business.

Rising with the Tide, as it were.

A wonderful example of where one can go with a degree(s) from UA

“Ms. Hewson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Alabama, a master’s degree in economics from The University of Alabama, went on to attended Columbia Business School and the Executive Development Program of Harvard Business School.”

For those parents who have concerns about their student choosing UA over an Ivy or high ranking private for an undergrad in UA’s Honors College, CBHP and/or UFE and where it will take them … my thoughts are…that it is most often not about where your degree comes from but what the individual does with it…Ms. Hewson obviously made the most of her education at UA and went on to achieve all she has with it.
