UA Law School (for UA grads)

I seem to vaguely recall someone mentioning (somewhere on this sub-forum) that UA students have an easier path for getting into UA Law School. I thought I read, also, that there’s a tuition break for Alabama residents / UA grads who go to UA Law School.

Am I dreaming this? ;-)

Thanks!!

I think I also read with a 3.75 gpa you don’t have to take the LSAT. Not sure about tuition though. I told S he coming home with some type of graduate degree, but I was thinking mba.

“Requirements include being in good standing with the Honors College; a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8; and a minimum ACT of 27 or SAT of 1290, which may substitute for the LSAT.”

[Honors Admissions Program | The University of Alabama | School of Law](http://www.law.ua.edu/admissions/honors-program/)

Thanks, cwe! Does anyone know about tuition breaks for in-state residents? (I’m thinkin’ DS could get an off-campus apartment for his last year or two of undergrad, LOL.)

We’re thinking ahead…

Ix-nay on the apartment… I was reminded via PM that this would mean giving up free housing in Honors. Not a good idea!

Is it true that UA Law has a very high job-placement rate? (This is a huge concern given the current glut of lawyers, rotten economy, rampant underemployment among law school grads, etc.)

That’s actually a good idea, about getting an off-campus apartment for the last year or two…it would be well worth the savings for in-state tuition (for those of us who do not have on-campus housing paid for, at least). Well, this is assuming I like Bama enough to want to stay there another few years… ;)
