UA or IU Bloomington for Business?

Accepted to both schools. Honors program at UA. Did not qualify for direct admit to Kelley School of Business at IUB so will have to qualify after first year which is not guaranteed nor easy. Plan to major in marketing and go into sales after graduation. Both business schools ranked, but IUB much higher than UA. No scholarship money offered by either. Concerened about quality of education/preparation and job placement. Cost is not a factor and will be OOS with either. Comments appreciated.

Anyday, I will choose IUB for business over UA. And as for your major, Kelley has a good reputation for being a marketing school!

I’m an engineering major so I don’t really know much about how business school in depth. I do know that our business program is probably “our best” school on campus in terms of ranks. I chose to study engineering here over top ranked engineering schools in the Southeast but then again engineering is different from business.

Since you plan to major in marketing and enter sales this may not interest you…but we have a great entrepreneurship center on campus. Although I am an engineering student I do not intend to do engineering for more than 5 years. Our entrepreneurship center works with our business school and has all kinds of resources available to small businesses and those wishing to start a business - students and non-students alike.

Sorry I couldn’t offer more info.

My son attends IU and I have to say it’s an awesome school. He has many friends at Kelley and, yes it’s hard to get into but has a great reputation. Have you logged onto their CC forum? Have you visited both schools?

IU works very closely with the students and helps you balance double majors and minors. My son is Double Majoring in Chinese and Telecommunications and minoring in Chinese… It is very easy, if you choose your courses carefully to do this at IU.
