UA recruitment of out of state applicants

Interesting article about Bama trying to recruit the best and brightest…

can you copy and paste it, i dont feel like registering

I dunno about that, I know someone who got in with a 2.1 and a 1040.

yeah I live in Atlanta and they send me stuff all of the time. It hasnt changed my mind about the school though. "We are the best school in Alabama! Woohoo!"

hey, hey don't talk about alabama like that.

Yeah, all national merit finalists get
tuition for 4 years, regular campus housing for 4 years, $2000 for summer research/overseas study, plus a laptop.

if they want to go, lol

The sad thing is that it's not enough because everyone's like "ALABAMA? LIKE FOOTBALL???"

It's definately worth a visit. My S was recruited last year as a NMS. He ulitmately received a full scholarship to his first choice school, but we were impressed by Alabama. They offer a lot more than football (that's just a bonus:) )You might want to hold off on making a judgement until you check it out.

true, true

A close friend's son just graduated from Alabama. He was NMF and got the free ride. He graduated a semester late because of an internship with the Washington Post where he lived in DC for a semester and worked at washpo. He had been the editor of his high school paper, was a journalism major at Bama, and I think he was also the editor of the Bama newspaper. He's now moving to work in Louisville, KY. He got an excellent education for free. Don't knock it.
